June 7, 2019 – CampUs 2019 is in the books! Over 40 middle-school aged students attended our camp at The Ohio State University this week. The camp is designed to prepare middle-school students for high school and to work on long term career goals. They toured various colleges, lived in the dorms, participated in career panel discussions with local professionals, and so much more! Learn more.

 


May 9, 2019 – ASAS Ohio hosted its first spring fundraiser at Top Golf Columbus. Over 130 guests joined us for a great night of friendly competition, good food, and raffle prizes! Learn more.

 


 

 


May 2, 2019 – The First Tee of Central Ohio has been a tremendous community partner for All-Stars! The First Tee provided golf instruction, as well as valuable life skills that will help them succeed in school and in life. On May 2nd, All-Stars participated in an end of year golf outing. Thank you The First Tee!

 


 

May 2019 – Throughout the month, Buckeye Health partnered with All-Stars to support Family Nights in our Columbus and Toledo locations. The theme for each Family Night was wellness. Families enjoyed healthy meals, joined in athletic activities, and participated in group discussions about coping with bullying. Thank you Buckeye Health!

 


 

April 2019 – For 15 weeks, students at Broadleigh Elementary & Cassady Elementary Schools worked with the Youth Yoga Hour project – a group that teaches children how to use their breath and body to calm their mind and help them improve their social-emotional skills. Thank you to ADAMH Board of Franklin County for awarding us a grant to bring this program to our students!

 


 

March 22, 2019 – Earlier in March, ASAS Ohio debuted a new video at it’s annual fundraiser, Experience Arnold. The video highlights the need and mission of All-Stars. March 4, 2019 – ASAS Ohio hosted it’s 5th Annual Experience Arnold on March 1st in Columbus. Held the first Friday of the Arnold Sports Festival weekend, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, legendary athletes, and special guests helped ASAS Ohio raise close to $200,000. Next year’s event will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020. Learn more.

 


 

March 4, 2019 – All-Stars from Columbus and Toledo participated in the NBA Math Hoops challenge in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday, March 1st. All of the students performed well, including two students from Birmingham Elementary School who won the entire competition. They will advance to a regional competition. Before the competition, All-Stars were invited to tour the Fox Sports Ohio Production Studio. They got up close with equipment and had question & answer sessions about careers at FSO.

 


 

February 8, 2019 – Celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), several female athletes from local colleges in Columbus and Toledo visited our All-Stars to share the positive impact sports have had on their personal life and athletic career.

 

 


 

December 22, 2018 – Students at four All-Star locations in Columbus participated in the Dick & Jane Project – professional musicians work with middle-school aged students to write and produce their own songs. It was a fantastic experience for our students to create their own songs and learn about careers in the music industry! Songs are available on Spotify. Click here.
